Surgical Services

At EMHS compassionate care is delivered to every surgical patient on an inpatient or outpatient basis.  Services start with pre-surgical testing to anesthesia consulting, ending with post anesthesia care and recovery.  Our professionals are with you through every step of your procedure.

With continued emphasis on Patient Safety, EMHS has updated one of 3 surgical suites with a Laminar Air Flow System which allows surgical procedures using the "Space Suit" system in an ultra clean environment.

The capability to perform laparoscopic procedures has been available at EMHS for over a decade.  Equipment is continually updated, a ultra-sonic washer for the laparoscopic equipment assuring accurate, complete cleaning has recently been replaced.  A C-max table is now in service which supports 1,000 lbs. is one of the newest operating tables available.

Safety and quality are paramount to the Surgical Team.  Experience anesthesiologist and CRNAs (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthestist) provide a full range of anesthesia services around the clock for emergency situations.

At the surgeons request, prior to surgery a anesthesia department member will interview the patient to customize anesthesia to the individual taking into account their personal history and specific procedure.
