EPSDT Physicals
Good Health starts with you! All children need regular check-ups to make sure they are in good health. Even if your child appears healthy, they still need regular check-ups to screen for any problems that you may not know about. Some health problems can be treated easily when identified early. Don't take good health for granted, schedule your child for a regular well-child check up.
The EPSDT program is Medicaid's comprehensive preventive child health program for children through 20 years of age who are enrolled in Medicaid or a Medicaid managed care program.
Early check-ups help keep kids healthy.
Periodic screenings done at certain ages. (see schedule)
Screenings to assess your child's total health physical, mental and developmental.
Diagnosis of problems identified through screening and physical exam.
Treatment of identified health programs, including appropriate referrals.
The EPSDT Periodicity Schedule calls for exams at the following ages:

| 4-5 months | 4 years | 14 years |
| 6-8 months | 5 years | 15 years |
| 9-11 months | 6 years | 16 years |
| 12 months | 8 years | 17 years |

| 18 months | 11 years | 19 years |
| 20 years |
Screening tests that may be done during an EPSDT include:
Vision testing, hearing testing, dental referral, blood testing for anemia and lead levels, urinalysis, and any vaccinations your child may be due for based on the American Academy of Pediatrics immunization schedule (Screenings are done as recommended by age based on the American Academy of Pediatrics Guidelines.)
